Visual Studio Code or VS Code is a lightweight but powerful source code editor created by Microsoft which runs on your desktop and is available for Windows, mac OS and Linux. It comes with built-in support for JavaScript, Type Script and Node.js and has a rich ecosystem of extensions for other languages (such as C++, C#, Java, Python, PHP, Go) and runtimes (such as .NET and Unity).
- According to me, auto save function is a one of the best feature in VS Code.A lot of extensions provide by VS Code. It's made our code very smooth and more powerful. It is very configurable and can use many predefined actions.
Programmer choose VS Code for the convenience Microsoft serves. Most of the programming languages can smoothly run on this IDE. So there is a great advantage not to keep any other IDEs for different different languages. One plus point also is belief - this IDE is a creation of Microsoft which is a very trustworthy company. Support for multiple programming languages with Intelli-Sense is one of the great advantage that's why it is mainly very popular for this advantage.
Other feature that VS code provides are transparency of code, good code suggestions, great tips for writing code, great tips for setting up workspace, free of cost, easy of use, looks great, easy integration with Git., easy to learn what monthly updates were delivered, vast array of free add-on available from the public, very easy to prototype individual components and later roll those up into larger ones etc. The VS code is very light IDE, lightening fast the UI. Customization of the entire environment provides accelerated productivity by being able to choose the extensions or plugins that best suit our development pace.
Yeah, like pros, some cons are also related here and they should be improved further to make it a perfect one
- Debugging supporter AI should be more improved.
- Hard to change setting on VS Code. so that should be more user-friendly
- Sometimes VS Code gets high CPU usage for running. so, the machine freezes sometimes.
